Carey Park is a little car journey away from our house. It is a nice little park which was once like a big cat litter tray. All I know is my dad can’t smoke there because of gases being released from the ground. (My person says it was once a Victorian landfill but is now quite a pretty park) So he was left at home the grumpy so and so, I bet he didn’t want to come because of the wind. (He had never liked wind). Anyway as soon as we arrived I made friends with a powder puff doggy! She was all white and fluffy like me, just a little bigger. She then went one way round the circuit and I went round the other.
It was a bit of a dreary day, being all soggy and cold. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun! Running around in puddles is great, though these puddles were sandy rather than muddy, which wasn’t as fun as I had thought. I wasn’t as dirty as I could have been. I must try harder next time.
We sat and watched a boat go by as the weather started to improve. It was getting a little warmer but the wind wasn’t getting any better! It was blowing my fur all different ways.
Lucky I had my coat on or I think I’d have frozen! The circuit took us away from the river and closer to the fields.
We passed by a one full of cows, which I was quite interested in. I have met cows before and they liked me so why shouldn’t these? I wanted to introduce myself but my person wouldn’t let me … spoil sport I was meant to be making friends. Instead I was put back on my lead and we walked past. It wasn’t all bad though, we met another little doggy along the road.
Eventually we finished the circuit, which was good because the wind had got worse I was in fear of being bowled over. We had a short trundle to the car where I was wrapped in a towel, and dried off before being stuck in the back with my seat belt.
Then it was off home for some tea and a nap. I liked the park but that wind can get a little scary when you are small.
With Halloween coming pretty soon my people decided that I was going to be knitted an outfit. I am used to my outfits. I like my coats in the winter and I use my high visibility jacket when I need to be seen. (Being small can sometimes means I could get stepped on) I have been know to dress as Santa Paws and I was a wizard. This year however my people had the marvelous idea that I was to be a PUMPKIN.
Halloween is great. I get to sit on the back of the sofa and bark at all the children coming up our path. I just love it! I don’t mind wearing a silly outfit, the cats hate it though. But there are some funny photo’s taken from them.
They also cut faces out out the pumpkins and put a light in them. I think they are meant to be scary but I can tell you that they taste pretty nice and I have licked them a few times. (Don’t tell the people, they weren’t eating them so I thought I’d have a go).
What are you doing for Halloween?
Is is officially the end of summer basically and the blackberries are out in force!
I don’t really like blackberries to be honest, strawberries are an altogether different thing though. But my people didn’t take me strawberry picking, they took me blackberry picking. So we walked down our usual route till we found the ‘bestest spot ever’, according to them.
We stopped, dropped our stuff ans starting picking. What I learned is that people seem to be hurt by the plants, I stuck my face in them like usual and they didn’t do a thing! Does any other doggy get stung by nettles? I know my ear fluff gets caught in the brambles and I have to bark to let my people know, so that they can come and untangle me.
Well I had fun running around and playing with the cut grass. My people picked a whole tub full of blackberries, their hands got covered in pink stuff
+and so did my leg! I was pink for a little bit, till they washed it off. I don’t really want to be pink, I’d like to be white please.
